SUMMARY:2024 Tac-Con - Rangemaster Tactical Conference
DESCRIPTION:Tac-Con is the premier training event for everyone interested in personal defense. Founded by Tom Givens over two decades ago\, Tac-Con brings renowned trainers from across the country together in one place for one weekend. \n\n\n\nI am honored to teach at this year's Tac-Con for the first time. I will be presenting a block called “Building a Buffer: The Quiet Eye in Shooting.” \n\n\n\nCourse Description: Having a surplus of skill to solve any shooting problem is a good thing as it frees up mental bandwidth. This course is an exploration into visual processing during shooting. Our vision informs everything we do and should be the primary feedback tool regarding whether our technique is working or not. We will start by showing you how to begin opening up your awareness\, and then we will step through drills designed to build upon that new awareness and teach you how to exercise more intentional control over how and what you see. This will allow you to process and interpret data more effectively leading to better shooting and better decision making as well. \n\n\n\nFor more information\, click on the link below!

SUMMARY:2-Day Pistol Intelligence – Alpine\, CA
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis unique course is a result of my own journey as a shooter\, intended to streamline each student’s development to shooting enlightenment by distilling shooting down to its simplest principles and forms. I had to learn a lot of things the hard way\, and it’s now time to pass along those lessons learned to help you establish a pathway forward that bypasses the common pitfalls most shooters spend YEARS struggling to get past. \n\n\n\nOne of the biggest lessons I had to learn was the importance of and the role that visual processing plays in one’s shooting. I spent a long time stuck in my development not because I couldn’t grip and press the trigger well\, but it was because I didn’t yet understand how to unlock the potential that already existed in my vision—the ability to see and process visual information more efficiently and with greater precision. \n\n\n\nIn this course\, we will unlock that visual performance and show you how to connect what you see with your desired results on target. You will come away with the ability to KNOW precisely where each bullet fired will impact the target before it even gets there. Some of the things in the course may seem like it has a competition focus\, but I promise you these concepts are ESPECIALLY useful for gun-carrying professionals and serious concealed-carrying citizens. Learning to use your vision more effectively has been shown to actually reduce stress and improve decision-making when it matters. We will also cover the following: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrinciples of grip\n\n\n\nSight picture\n\n\n\nTrigger manipulation\n\n\n\nRecoil management done the right way!\n\n\n\nThe “Stoplight Analogy” for proper throttle control\n\n\n\nHow to discover your own unique techniques that work best for you\n\n\n\nVision drills\n\n\n\nShot calling\n\n\n\nAccountability for hits\n\n\n\nDraw efficiency\n\n\n\nConcepts of sooner NOT faster\n\n\n\nTransitions\n\n\n\n“Gunfight Hit Factor” – for better understanding how to apply these shooting skills in the real world\n\n\n\n\nPlus\, each student will shoot the Pistol Intelligence Standards to establish their own Pistol Intelligence Quotient (I.Q.) score. This score can then be used to establish a baseline of performance to measure future growth. To score well at the Pistol Intelligence Standards requires that a shooter be well-rounded and not just good at one or two things. Those that can score a Pistol IQ of 144 points or more will be awarded an exclusive numbered Pistol IQ Metal Card. \n\n\n\nCourse requirements:\n\n\n\n\nThis should not be the first formal pistol training course you have taken. This is not a class intended to teach you how to draw or how to setup your gear. This is a class to teach you how to SHOOT! You should already be comfortable and safe with drawing from a holster.\n\n\n\n800 rounds of reliable ammunition\n\n\n\nQuality pistol\n\n\n\nA minimum of 3 magazines (if single stack\, 5 mags minimum)\n\n\n\nMag pouches recommended (you should be able to carry at least 2 spare mags on your person–using your pocket is fine\, too!)\n\n\n\nQuality holster – No Serpas – No soft/collapsible holsters\, no cross-draw or shoulder holsters\n\n\n\nEye protection (safety-rated)\n\n\n\nElectronic hearing protection STRONGLY encouraged\n\n\n\nClothing appropriate for the range and weather\n\n\n\nNote-taking materials (notepad/pen or phone)\n\n\n\nGood attitude and an open mind\n\n\n\n\n*Course tuition does not include daily range-use fees of $50 per day that are payable to the range or course host. SUMMARY:Mental Game Strategies for Defense - El Cajon\, CA
DESCRIPTION:In competitive shooting\, having a solid mental game is a concept that is well understood and discussed regularly. But what about the defensive context? It seems to not be discussed as often especially in how it can benefit our performance for better\, more positive outcomes. What does the mental game look like prepping for or during the fight? How can we cultivate a resilient mental game to maximize success in a violent defensive event? \n\n\n\nIn this 2-hour presentation\, I will share the latest science on mental toughness and provide numerous examples of men and women that have prevailed through the use of mental coping strategies. Plenty of time will be provided for questions\, answers\, and discussion. \n\n\n\nEven though cash will be accepted at the door\, please sign-up ahead of time for this unique seminar to reserve your spot.

DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis unique course is a result of my own journey as a shooter\, intended to streamline each student’s development to shooting enlightenment by distilling shooting down to its simplest principles and forms. SUMMARY:2-day Pistol Intelligence – Ann Arbor\, MI
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis unique course is a result of my own journey as a shooter\, intended to streamline each student’s development to shooting enlightenment by distilling shooting down to its simplest principles and forms. We will also cover the following: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrinciples of gripSight pictureTrigger manipulationRecoil management done the right way!The “Stoplight Analogy” for proper throttle controlHow to discover your own unique techniques that work best for youVision drillsShot callingAccountability for hitsDraw efficiencyConcepts of sooner NOT fasterTransitions“Gunfight Hit Factor” – what it is\, and how we can use it to maximize our performance\n\n\n\nPlus\, each student will shoot the Pistol Intelligence Standards to establish their own Pistol Intelligence Quotient (I.Q.) score. \n\n\n\nCourse requirements:\n\n\n\nThis should not be the first formal pistol training course you have taken. This is not a class intended to teach you how to draw or how to setup your gear. This is a class to teach you how to SHOOT! You should already be comfortable and safe with drawing from a holster.800 rounds of reliable ammunitionQuality pistolA minimum of 3 magazines (if single stack\, 5 mags minimum)Mag pouches (you should be able to carry at least 2 spare mags on your person)Quality holster – No Serpas – No soft/collapsible holstersEye protection (safety-rated)Electronic hearing protection STRONGLY encouragedClothing appropriate for the range and weatherNote-taking materials (notepad/pen or phone)Good attitude and an open mind\n\n\n\n*Course tuition does not include any range-use fees that are payable to the range or course host. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAmmunition Available for Class!!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI've partnered with Mountain City Supply (MCS) to bring ammunition to my students. SUMMARY:2-day Pistol Intelligence - Parma\, ID
DESCRIPTION:Register Now\n\n\n  \n\nThis unique course is a result of my own journey as a shooter\, intended to streamline each student’s development to shooting enlightenment by distilling shooting down to its simplest principles and forms. \n\n\n\nIn this course we will unlock that visual performance and show you how to connect what you see with your desired results on target. You will come away with the ability to KNOW precisely where each bullet fired will impact the target before it even gets there. Some of the things in the course may seem like it has a competition focus\, but I promise you these concepts are ESPECIALLY useful for gun-carrying professionals and serious concealed carrying citizens. We will also cover the following: \n\nPrinciples of grip\nSight picture\nTrigger manipulation\nThe direct relationship between sight picture and trigger\nRecoil management\nHow to discover your own unique techniques that work best for you\nVision drills\nShot calling\nAccountability for hits\nDraw efficiency\nConcepts of sooner NOT faster\nTransitions\nMovement\, especially shooting on the move and how visual processing can help us do this better\n“Gunfight Hit Factor” – what it is\, and how we can use it to maximize our performance\n\nPlus\, each student will shoot the Pistol Intelligence Standards to establish their own Pistol Intelligence Quotient (I.Q.) score. This score can then be used to establish a baseline of performance to measure future growth. To score well at the Pistol Intelligence Standards requires that a shooter be well-rounded and not just good at one or two things. Those that can score a Pistol IQ of 150 points or more will be awarded an exclusive numbered Pistol IQ Metal Card. \n \nCourse requirements: \n\nThis should not be the first formal pistol training course you have taken. This is not a class intended to teach you how to draw or how to setup your gear. This is a class to teach you how to SHOOT! You should already be capable of consistently passing Gila Hayes' 5×5 Drill if you're wondering whether this would be a good fit for you or not.\n800 rounds of reliable ammunition\nQuality pistol\nA minimum of 3 magazines (if single stack\, 5 mags minimum)\nMag pouches (you should be able to carry at least 2 spare mags on your person)\nQuality holster – No Serpas – No soft/collapsible holsters\nEye protection (safety-rated)\nElectronic hearing protection STRONGLY encouraged\nClothing appropriate for the range and weather\nNote-taking materials (notepad/pen or phone)\nGood attitude and an open mind\n\n*Course tuition does not include any range-use fees that are payable to the range or course host. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Now
